The biggest surprise was that when you up load a picture, you still have ownership over that picture. Also others can use those photos for educational purposes only for a friendly use policy. It was strange because iEARN doesn't own the images, but they are giving permission for others to use. You have to agree with this before you upload to any GLP. I will put in my trust policy that no one can use the images that other upload to my GLP.
My daughter is a photographer at 16yr and has already had 2 catalog photo shots. The owner of the make up one took her images she had edited and sent them to another editor and they turned out awful and her name was on them. She was pretty upset because she has her own business. I don't want that to happen to anyone who participates in my GLP.
Wow, crazy story LeeAnn! Sorry your daughter had to go through that. I agree that it is important to protect the copyrights of each person's work.

ReplyDeleteWe definitely need something in our policies to protect pictures on our websites from being victimized like how that person did to your daughter.
